ASSET DESCRIPTION
Acquired in 2010 for $10 million, The Vanderbilt was a 35,000 square foot hotel with 33 rooms, suites, and a spa, and fitness center with indoor and outdoor swimming pools located in Newport, Rhode Island. It also included a gourmet restaurant, cocktail bar, and a conservatory dining room. Built in 1909, it was one of several mansions owned by the Vanderbilt family. The property was voted the #1 Hotel in the Northeast in Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2023.
Known as “America’s First Resort,” Newport contains Colonial and Gilded Age architecture, coastal scenery and cliff walks, and a vibrant city center. The Vanderbilt was sold in 2018 to Auberge Resorts Collection as part of a much larger transaction.
